NYU’s arcane communications system caused great controversy among the European powers and the African nations as they struggled to adopt technological advances during the Race for Africa. Delegates found themselves constantly spellbound and distracted from the speaker as mystical text appeared on their lap-top contraptions, as if by some strange voodoo power.
Many delegates were resistant to the winds of change. “I’m used to telegraphs and typewriters,” said our unnamed source, “how can the coordinators of this conference expect us to adopt their strange and newfangled technology?”
Delegates all expressed a great sigh of relief when, near the end of the session, the magical system suddenly ceased to affect the operations of their committees. They were deflated to learn that the system should be working perfectly today.
